The Deshpande Foundation was founded in 1996 by Jaishree and Gururaj "Desh" Deshpande. Desh is the Chairman of the Akshaya Patra USA Board of Directors. The Deshpande Foundation have been supporters of Akshaya Patra USA since its inception. The Deshpande Foundation's projects include The MIT Deshpande Center for Technological Innovation (Cambridge, MA), The Deshpande Center for Social Entrepreneurship (Hubli, Karnataka), Merrimack Valley Sandbox (Lowell, MA), The Pond Deshpande Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (New Brunswick, Canada), and the Deshpande Innovation Network.

Two Degrees Food
Two Degrees Food is the first one-for-one food company. For every snack bar they sell, they donate a meal to a child through their non-profit partners. To date, Two Degrees has donated over 280,000 meals to school children through Akshaya Patra.
