Akshaya Patra Coin Jar Project

Akshaya Patra's Coin Jar initiative is the perfect way for families and individuals to engage in giving to Akshaya Patra on a daily basis. Each household gets a jar in the Coin Jar program and treats it like a piggy bank. Money is deposited during special occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, good grades, or promotions. Change can also be deposited in lieu of purchasing a soda while out at dinner or when emptying your pockets when returning from the grocery store. Our dream is for every household in America to have a Akshaya Patra Coin Jar. Watch the presentation below to learn more.

“Pay It Forward” Lunch Money Campaign

The premise of the novel Pay It Forward is one that any person can implement in his or her own life, at any time. It begins with doing a favor for another person-- without any expectation of being paid back. In Akshaya Patra’s case we are requesting that each of you pay it forward by, sharing your lunch money with a deserving child in India and have a virtual lunch with a child in need, all it takes is $15 to feed a child for an entire school year.
