Grassroots Power—The Force For Change

The power to improve the world is in your hands. It is this grassroots power that will be the force of change and transform India. Akshaya Patra supports community leaders, service groups and global activists to raise awareness and funds for underprivileged school children in India through its Food for Education program.

The Akshaya Patra program provides midday school lunches in order to give children access to education and the nutrition they need to focus on learning and achieving their dreams. Fundraising may seem like a mundane or overwhelming task, one that is not as glamorous as “hands on” activities, but it is necessary and we inspire and equip change agents with the tools they need to help support these deserving children in India.

Akshaya Patra has been recognized by President Barack Obama as “an imaginative approach that has the potential to serve as a model for other countries.” The program is a true global model of efficiency and ingenuity, built and designed to be easily replicated in other parts of the world.
