Planned Giving

Leave a Legacy

Planned giving integrates philanthropy with overall financial, tax and estate planning, ensuring that you receive the full benefit of your contributions while helping to put nutritious food in empty stomachs so school children can learn.

The Akshaya Patra Foundation is appreciative of its large member donor base which is continually helping us reach our goal of ensuring that hunger is not a barrier to educating children in India. Many of our donors contribute year after year and are interested in developing a long-lasting relationship with Akshaya Patra. It is often thought that the only way to give to a charitable organization is by giving cash. While giving cash is one of the most common ways to contribute, one may want to consider alternative methods that provide you with both a financial benefit as well as allowing you to support a cause of your choice.  “Planned Giving”, often called deferred giving, is an option that allows you to leave a legacy and maximize your impact on educating and feeding school children.

Planned giving can be a beneficial part of any estate plan, and is not limited to wealthy individuals. There are several ways you can make a planned gift to Akshaya Patra. Typical ways to make a planned gift include:

• making a charitable bequest
• charitable remainder trust
• charitable lead trust
• retirement plans
• life insurance

Whether you contribute your gift during your lifetime or through your will, gifts of all sizes are needed to eradicate hunger and educate school children in India. If you would like to explore the benefits of planned giving, please contact Akshaya Patra at 781-438-3090.
